Apex Skills are the ultimate abilities within each skill tree in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. To unlock an Apex Skill, you must first acquire every other skill in its corresponding tree. Once all other skills are unlocked, an Apex Challenge will become available. Completing this challenge, which involves specific tasks like defeating enemies in a certain way or crafting items, will grant you the Apex Skill.

Apex Challenge: The Perfect Hunt (Survivor Tree)

To unlock the Second Wind Apex Skill, you must achieve clean kills on both a Feral Viperwolf and a Feral Thanator. A clean kill involves using a strong weapon, like the Heavy Bow, to hit the creature's weakspot with a single arrow. Feral Viperwolves and Thanators can be found in areas where Severed Bonds side quests take place. The weakspots are typically on the sides of their necks. Second Wind allows you to revive yourself if you run out of health, provided you have 50% or more energy.

Apex Challenge: Powerful Shots (Warrior Tree)

This challenge requires you to defeat AMP Commandos by hitting only their armor or weakspots using a Heavy Bow and Spear-Thrower. Avoid removing the armor plating that reveals the pilot, and do not stun them with melee attacks. AMP Commandos are often found in RDA Outposts in the Upper Plains and Clouded Forest. Raising an alarm in an outpost can cause transports to deploy these enemies. If all RDA facilities are cleared, Commandos can be found in the open world, such as west of the First Zakru. The Powerful Shots ability grants a chance to stun enemies briefly when using your bow or spear-thrower.

Apex Challenge: Restoring Harmony (Hunter Tree)

To unlock the Pandoran Harmony Apex Skill, you need to get clean kills on a Hammerhead Titanothere and a Soundblast Colossus. The Hammerhead Titanothere is found in the Kinglor Forest's Bamboo Grove biomes, and the Soundblast Colossus is in the Upper Plains' Windswept Grasslands. Clean kills require hitting their respective weakspots: the Hammerhead's on the sides of its neck, and the Colossus's by its front legs near its belly. Pandoran Harmony makes you peaceful to non-predator wildlife when your weapon is holstered, but this effect ends if you take any threatening action.

Apex Challenge: Crafting the Energizing Longbow (Maker Tree)

The Maker Tree's Apex Skill does not involve combat. You must craft an Exquisite-tier bow by finding Exquisite versions of three materials: a Dawnsheen Branch, Shaded Waterweed Bast, and a Hammerhead Horn. Each material is found in a different region, requiring exploration across Kinglor Forest (for the Hammerhead Horn, found in Dyer's Bowl), Upper Plains, and Clouded Forest.
