Survival in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes often depends on your ability to remain unseen and unheard. The game features a robust stealth system that allows you to bypass or eliminate threats without direct confrontation. Enemies, primarily RDA soldiers and their robotic counterparts, have a detection system that is influenced by line of sight, sound, and proximity. When you are within an enemy's cone of vision, a visual indicator will appear, often a white or yellow exclamation mark above their head, sifying they are becoming aware of your presence. If the indicator fills completely, they will enter a heightened alert state, actively searching for you. Sound is equally important; sprinting, firing unsuppressed weapons, or interacting with noisy objects can attract attention. Crouching significantly reduces the noise you make and makes you harder to spot. Utilizing cover is paramount; dense foliage, rock formations, and abandoned structures can all provide concealment. The game often highlights areas of tall grass or shadows where you can effectively hide. For players wielding the Longbow, silent takedowns from a distance are a cornerstone of stealth. Aim for weak points, such as the head, to ensure a quick and silent kill. If detected, you can often break line of sight and reposition yourself to allow enemies to return to their patrol routes. However, if you are in a full combat alert, enemies will actively hunt you. Learning enemy patrol patterns is key; observe their routes and timing to find openings for infiltration or assassination. Certain abilities, like the Shadow Step, can further enhance your stealth capabilities, allowing for rapid, silent repositioning. Avoid engaging large groups of heavily armed RDA units, such as the AMP Suits, in open combat if stealth is your primary approach. Instead, focus on isolating individual targets or using environmental distractions to your advantage.
