Follow this Age of Empires III Part 18 walkthrough to learn how to defend your town centers, manage miners, and strategically deploy a fort wagon to overcome enemy cannons and bridges.
Walkthrough
- 1Build a couple of houses at the southern town center.
- 2When cavalry attacks the northern town center, move peasants to the south to continue lumber chopping.
- 3Ship in a fort wagon from your Home City (ideally on your first shipment) and deploy it at the end of the long pass leading north-west from the bridge your miners are working on. Send new miners from the northern cave to assist with bridge construction.
- 4Repair the fort as needed using resources; focus on gaining experience to ship in more units.
- 5Once the first bridge is destroyed, send falconets and other troops south to the next bridge on the upper cliffs. Move miners to work on this second bridge.
- 6Use falconets to block the lower pass leading east and catch incoming red units. Build a foundry and more houses, focusing on building falconets.
- 7After the second bridge falls, move miners and troops to the next bridge. Ensure your fort is healthy and repair it if necessary.
- 8With eight or nine miners on the last bridge, supported by troops and your fort defending the northern pass, you should be able to relax.
- 9Destroying the third bridge wins the level, provided fewer than ten cannons have gotten past you.
Tips
- Time the bridge's fall to land on enemies for an advantage, though this is rare.
- The fort wagon is crucial for catching passing cannons and can withstand one cannon and its escorts before needing repair.
- Ship in units like falconets, mercenaries, or other combat units with subsequent shipments.
- Falconets are the primary unit to build for offense.
- If cannons slip through, manually target your fort on them.
