Valak Mountain Quests

Complete Valak Mountain quests in xenoblade chronicles definitive edition, including Monster Quests, Chilkins and Antols, Valak Mountain Research, The Freezing Nopon, and Bad Timing.

Monster Quests

Monster Quests require you to defeat multiples of a certain enemy type.

1. Monster Quest 1: Defeat 2 Monta Moramoras in Zokhed Pass. Reward: 23000G.
2. Monster Quest 2: Defeat 5 Sparas Paguls in Nagul Waterfall. Reward: 25500G.
3. Monster Quest 3: Defeat 3 Bow Chilkins in Hollow Bone. Reward: 28000G.
4. Monster Quest 4: Defeat 1 Sesna Lexos in Mechonis Wound (Daytime). Reward: 30000G. The Sesna Lexos is found near the Mechonis Wound landmark during the day.

Unique Quests

These Valak Mountain quests are more complex than monster slaying, collection, and search quests.

Chilkins and Antols

Client: Nopon Researcher (Nopon Camp). Rewards: 10000G, 3300 EXP, Spike Defence IV, Chill Defence IV, Paralysis Defence IV. Affinity: None.

Receive this quest from an unnamed Nopon Researcher at the Nopon Camp on Valak Mountain. You need to defeat 5 Poleaxe Chilkins and 5 Ent Antols. Ent Antols are most common around Mechonis Wound or on Bagnar Snowfield. Poleaxe Chilkins can also be found on Bagnar Snowfield. Return to the Nopon Researcher upon completion.

Valak Mountain Research

Client: Nopon Researcher (Nopon Camp). Rewards: 11500G, 3800 EXP, Chill Defence V. Affinity: None.

After completing Chilkins and Antols, speak to the same Nopon Researcher. Visit two locations and report back: Befalgar Pedestal and Kana Peak.

• Befalgar Pedestal: A Secret Area southeast from Zokhed Pass. From Zokhed Pass, descend the mountain and head northeast to a ledge. Walk across an icy landbridge, then down a narrow south path to a climbable wall. Continue through an eastern tunnel to reach Befalgar Pedestal.
• Kana Peak: Located on a narrow mountain ridge. Fast travel to Mechonis Wound, then head southeast to Nagul Waterfall. Walk up the hill path north until halfway. Look for a ridge on the left side of the path. Carefully navigate this ridge to reach Kana Peak.

Once both views are examined, return to the Nopon Researcher. Your choice of favorite view does not impact rewards or future quests.

The Freezing Nopon

Client: Nopon Researcher (Hollow Bone). Rewards: 12000G, 4500 EXP, Heavy Leggings. Affinity: None.

To reach the Nopon Researcher in Hollow Bone, use Jakt Geyser east of Nopon Camp to launch yourself onto the ledge they are on. They need you to fetch hot foods:

• 3 Hox Flints (Dropped by Porcu Hoxes in Lava Cave)
• 2 Antol Fire Pouches (Dropped by Ent Antols at Mechonis Wound)
• 1 Feris Aged Ale (Dropped by Noto Feris in Lava Cave)

Return to the Nopon Researcher with the materials to complete the quest.

Quests Available After Completing The Magma Rock (Story Quest)

Bad Timing

Client: Nopon Researcher (Bionis’ Wrist). Rewards: 13800G, 5000 EXP, Heavy Gear, Heavy Armour. Affinity: None.

This quest requires completion of the story quest, The Magma Rock, to thaw ice blockades. The Nopon Researcher is trapped behind an ice wall, found halfway between Ignia Hill and Great Glacier. They will ask you to defeat 4 Cunning Chilkins so they can escape the cave.
