Walkthrough

    Head to the quarantine zone in the southeast of the Shadow Quarters on Footfall and speak to the Extermination Brigade Sergeant.

    Leave the Shadow Quarters and go to the Liege’s Residence. Speak to him and ask about the quarantine. If playing an Iconoclast playthrough, you can choose to help the people inside for +5 Iconoclast.

    After speaking with the Liege, the quest will update to “Assess the Situation”. You must wait for this to progress.

    Once you have completed the “Reclaim What was Lost” quest, return to the Shadow Quarters and the quarantine zone gate will be open.

    Enter the quarantine zone and head down the metal stairs. You will face an Awareness check of 36.

    If you pass the check, interact with the magnifying glass on the wall next to a pipe to find residents hiding. You can choose to save them or kill them.

    The Mutant’s lair is located at the mouth of a large pipe, opposite a dilapidated house in the center of the area. Interact with the [Awareness] magnifying glass to open the entrance.

    Enter the lair and prepare for a battle against a horde of mutants.

    Use an Adaptive Antidot on each party member to gain immunity to Toxin damage for the rest of the combat, at the cost of -10 Toughness.

    Split your party, placing some on either side of the cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) near the entrance and the rest behind it.

    Take out enemies from cover, using grenades for groups. Be aware that defeated mutants explode, leaving a “Shadow Quarters Disease” debuff.

    Prioritize taking down Mutant Infectors with the “Pus Grenade” ability, as they can hit multiple party members.

    Use a Warrior to taunt mutants, then use grenades on the group. Bounty Hunters can then focus on stronger variants.

    Once all mutants are defeated, the quest will finish.
Tips
  • Defeat mutants quickly to prevent them from spreading Toxin damage across the arena.
  • Defeating enemies from afar is ideal, but with the Antidot, you should be able to withstand some hits.
  • Stronger mutant variants have five times the health and attack with knives, applying Toxin on hit.
  • The “Spread the Disease” ability places Toxin around the area, which can overwhelm you if not dealt with quickly.
