Complete the Family Portraits quest in Vampyr, finding lore like The Myth of the Horned Vampire and Venus's Journal, and earning Charlotte's Stake.
Walkthrough
- 1Head downstairs from your current location and turn right at the bottom to reach the back door of the club. Unlock it and go through the back gate, then down the steps. You'll find a gate on your right leading to the Embankment Sewers.
- 2Follow the tunnel path and search a Lakeland crate for the lore piece, The Myth of the Horned Vampire (27/30).
- 3Continue through the tunnel until you reach a door. Unlock it to emerge in the chamber where you fought Fergal, creating a shortcut to the Sewer Skals Territory. Backtrack to the West End.
- 4Find Carina Billow wandering in the area behind the Ascalon Club. Speak to her and select "Your life in London?" / "What happened to you?" / "Tell me about the voice in your head" to unlock her first hint.
- 5After speaking with Carina, observe her for a few minutes and follow her when she goes down nearby steps into a gated-off area. Observe her from above to unlock her second hint.
- 6Look on the walls of buildings in the area where you met Carina to find Scrawled Notes, which unlock her third hint.
- 7Speak to Carina again and select "Personal questions" / "Tell me what really happened to you?" / "He tricked you..." to unlock her final hint.
- 8Go into the covered market area to the left of the Ascalon Club, where Kimura is located. Find a pamphlet on a newsstand and read the Warning Leaflet to unlock a hint about Clarence Crossley.
- 9Find Clarence Crossley wandering nearby. Speak to him and select "Your life in London?" / "About your leaflets concerning vampires?" / "I believe you" to unlock his second hint.
- 10Select "Personal questions" / "What have you discovered about vampires?" / "What do you mean you're not alone?" to unlock his investigation, They Are Among Us. If you have found all required lore entries, you can turn in the quest for 480XP.
- 11Go to the street left of the covered market to find the Crossley home. Before knocking, go around to the back and use your blood sense (an ability that highlights interactive elements and trails) to observe Clarence's wife, Venus. When she goes into the kitchen, eavesdrop to unlock her second hint.
- 12Unlock a nearby gate to create a shortcut to the North Docks. Return to the front of the house and knock on the door to force Venus Crossley to let you inside.
- 13Loot the downstairs room. Go upstairs to the Crossleys' bedroom and search the right bedside table for Venus's Journal, which unlocks a hint for Clarence.
- 14Search the other bedside table for the lore piece, The Lost Library (28/30).
- 15Go out onto the Crossleys' balcony and look up to see a ledge you can teleport to (an ability to instantly move to a targeted location). Dash across and enter the building. Jonathan will remark that no invitation is needed.
- 16Examine a table to read Emily's Love Letter.
- 17Examine the blood spatter on the counterpane to advance the investigation.
- 18Engage your blood sense and follow the blood trail to the ledge. Drop down into the street and follow the trail through the gate. You will likely need to kill a Blinker Skal (a type of enemy) so he doesn't impede you.
- 19Continue following the trail and you will find an Ekon (another type of enemy) hunched over a body. Speak to him, and he will introduce himself as Le Marquis do Bois-Colombes.
- 20Select "I followed the blood trail" to learn what happened. If you select "I believe you", he will leave. If you select "You deserve to die", you will fight him. He is a difficult opponent with a lengthy life bar. Use your defensive skills and keep on top of your dodging game to avoid his blows. He is worth 200XP, and you can loot his remains for 109/-.
- 21Return to the West End and report back to Charlotte Ashbury for 450XP and Charlotte's Stake (6/13). This weapon is comparable to a fully-upgraded Priwen Stake and does not require upgrades as it is already "Perfect".
- 22Find Clarence Crossley and select "Personal questions" / "Your wife is poisoning you" / "You have no suspicions at all?" to unlock his and Venus's final hints.
- 23To complete "A Surprise for the London's Lone Gourmet", locate three restaurants and read their menus. The first is at the end of the street to the right of the Ascalon Club, but Jonathan deems it too ordinary. The second is near Lady Ashbury's mansion, next door to the Hideout, which Jonathan also finds too conventional. The third establishment is in Temple Covered Market, next door to Wakefield Chocolate, which Jonathan approves of.
- 24Report back to Calhoun for 200/- and 140XP for completing "A Surprise for the London's Lone Gourmet".
- 25After resting, speak to Calhoun again and select "Personal questions" / "About the restaurant I recommended" / "Your money could be more usefully spent" to unlock a third hint for him and earn 140XP.
- 26If you speak to inhabitants and select "About local sources of infection?", they will point towards the Mullaney and McPherson households.
- 27Go to the Temple Garden district and head west towards the quest marker. The street is crawling with Priwen guards (a faction of enemies). After dealing with them, note the locked door. Go behind the row of houses and look up to spot a teleport ledge that allows access to the house. The upper floor contains decent loot.
