Hop back down into the water and go straight past the waterwheel.

Climb the ledge at the other side.

Open the metal door at the top using the R2 button and motion controls.

If you have not picked up the Scrawled Journal, you will receive a Butterfly Effect Update: IMPORTANT DISCOVERY - Sam failed to discover a vital record.

A cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will play where The Stranger's head rolls out of the door. If any teens are dead, their heads will also emerge. Mike will comment if Jess is present.

Mike finds Josh during his hallucination and slaps him to snap him out of it.

If Sam found the Scrawled Journal earlier, you will receive a Butterfly Effect Update: IMPORTANT DISCOVERY - Josh heard the truth about the monster.

Josh will hand over the cable car keys.

Sam climbs out of the mines to reach the others.

Mike escorts Josh the other way as he is not in a fit state to climb out.

Proceed forward and dip into an opening on the left when possible.

Find the TOTEM on the ground. This is Fortune Totem #6.

Follow Mike out of the cavern.

When you reach the water, drop down the ledge and wade across to the other side.

About halfway through the water, a cutscene will play. The outcome depends on whether you found the Scrawled Journal.

If you didn't pick up the Scrawled Journal: A cutscene shows the Wendigo picking Josh up by the skull and crushing him. Josh notices the butterfly tattoo on its arm too late, and Hannah crushes his skull. This triggers the Butterfly Effect Update: IMPORTANT DISCOVERY - Josh recognised Hannah too late and was killed.

If you found the Scrawled Journal: A Butterfly Effect Update: IMPORTANT DISCOVERY - Josh recognised Hannah...and Hannah recognised Josh will occur.

If Matt or Jessica is alive, you will get another gameplay section. If neither survived, skip to Sam's next section.

If Matt/Jess is alive, they find a lamp. Press R2 to pick up a lighter and swipe the touchpad to light the lamp.

If both Matt and Jessica are alive: Jess approaches Matt, not recognizing him, and attempts to attack. Press the TRIANGLE BUTTON to avoid her attack. Failing the QTE results in Matt getting a gash on his cheek.

You will have a dialogue choice as Matt:

INFORM: "Not alone up here." - Matt's HONESTY meter goes UP, Matt's CHARITABLE meter goes UP, all other traits except curious decrease slightly.

QUESTION: "What happened to you?" - Matt's HONESTY meter goes DOWN, Matt's FUNNY meter goes DOWN, Matt's CHARITABLE meter goes DOWN, Matt's CURIOSITY meter goes UP.

If Jessica was alive, you get the Butterfly Effect Update: TO HER RESCUE - Jessica was still alive! OR Matt was all alone in the mine.

If Matt was alive, you get the Butterfly Effect Update: SAVE YOURSELF - Matt found Jessica! OR Matt was all alone in the mine.
