Locate and free your first knight from an island in the southeast. Access this island only when the river freezes in winter. Avoid destroying any buildings on the island.

On the way to the prison, you will encounter a large bandit camp. You may choose to destroy this camp first. The bandits are holding a knight hostage and demand 2000 gold for their release. Destroying the bandits will free the knight.

Free your second knight from a prison in Vestholm. Sneak your knight behind the stone wall in the north when the river freezes and interact with the prison.

Free your third knight, who is being transported to the harbor. Use the magnifying glass on the quest details log to get a ping on the minimap (a display showing a small area of the game world), or send your forces to the harbor to intercept the cart. Capture the cart when it arrives.

Once all four knights are freed, it is time to capture the traitor. Assault the north gate of the city (where the prison is located). Use a small wall spur jutting out to enter the castle. Have one unit open the gate from the inside for the others.

Locate the traitor and concentrate all your forces on defeating them, ignoring all other targets. If the traitor is hiding in the marketplace, you will need to open a second set of gates. Use the quest details window's magnifying glass to locate the traitor. Be aware that Vestholm has a high reputation and strong resistance.

After the traitor is defeated, you can claim victory.

Upgrade all existing buildings and construct additional grain fields. Consider rearranging fields for better efficiency. Your allies will send carts with supplies and gold.

The city to the east has a bandit problem that intercepts supply carts. Defeat these bandits before focusing on the Red Prince or collecting ruin gold.

Upgrade your castle first, then use leftover stone to build a wall. The Red Prince can attack from the west or east, so seal off both passages. To the east of your settlement, you will find an area with two herds of sheep, fishing, and two hunting grounds, plus a ruin.

When you are ready to promote to Baron, the Red Prince will become hostile. You will be informed that the target city is protected by three garrisons that must be destroyed. You must also send 50 stone to the northern city, rebuild the harbor in the east, and free a prisoner.

Before undertaking these tasks, ensure your defenses are set up and your army is prepared. Defeat the two bandit camps in the east.

Once you can build catapults and have cleared the southern bandit camps, create 3 catapults and maximize your army. Send a thief into the southern enemy outpost to provide sight for your catapults. Attack one of the walls with the catapults. Once the wall is breached, use your army to take the outpost. Immediately build a wall to seal off this new area from the Red Prince's forces.

Ignore the quests and focus on destroying the Red Prince. Take all areas surrounding his main city to cut off his supply. Capturing an outpost provides a route to attack from the inside. Depriving him of resources will cause his settlers to strike, reducing his reputation and gold for recruitment.

Take each territory one by one, starting north from the outpost and moving clockwise around the main city. Initiate a festival or sermon periodically to boost your army's potential. Save your game after conquering each territory.

Wait until the Red Prince is out of gold (he will stop recruiting soldiers) before assaulting his main city. To confirm, send a thief into his city to observe his settlers; they will likely be striking at the marketplace.

Assault his main city with minimal opposition.
