Complete The Settlers Part 23 walkthrough, including rescuing Hakim, finding Thordal, and surviving perpetual winter.
Walkthrough
- 1After stealing the plans, return your knight to your castle.
- 2You will be informed that Hakim is a prisoner.
- 3To infiltrate the enemy city, move your thief to the eastern side and burn down the wooden palisade.
- 4A sandbar allows passage through the river without freezing.
- 5Move your knight next to the prison (marked with a hand icon) in the north-west corner of the city.
- 6Wait for the progress bar to decrease and release Hakim.
- 7Hakim will return to your castle, allowing you to claim victory.
- 8For the DRENGIR map, stay in the northlands to investigate the connection between vikings and Crimson Sabbat, and locate Thordal.
- 9Expand west for stone, as you start with fish, hunting, and iron.
- 10Find wild sheep to the west and south-west.
- 11Your first quest is to find Thordal in the north-east. Build up your settlement until you reach the rank of Baron.
- 12Upon reaching Baron, you will receive a message from Thordal to build a beekeeper.
- 13Promote past Baron by building one beekeeper with 4 hives and two taverns.
- 14Once your army is fully upgraded, find Thordal.
- 15Thordal will ask you to destroy the southern-most outpost.
- 16After taking the outpost, build 3 hunter huts as a show of good faith to the nearby village.
- 17Move to the eastmost outpost and take it back. Beware of polar bears on the snowy plateau.
- 18Use torches to take the outpost after Thordal's troops burn down the wall.
- 19Build 3 cattle farms, and the territory will be given to the village.
- 20Send your knight to the city to the west.
- 21Stop your taverns from selling mead to stockpile 18 mead.
- 22Deliver the 18 mead.
- 23Build a siege engine workshop and a battering ram to take down the gate at the northern city.
- 24Destroy the outpost in the center to achieve victory.
- 25For the REKKYR map, survive perpetual winter.
- 26Explore hunting areas for food and find a herd of wild cows for cheese.
- 27Investigate the village to the north that is expecting a grain shipment.
- 28Kill the wolves near an old hut to receive 75 grain.
- 29Make 9 bread for the village, ensuring the baker is on stockpile.
- 30Find the lost sheep for the village across the river; three are north and three are south.
- 31You can also find ruins worth 250 gold further south.
- 32Buy one herd of sheep and start making 18 wool clothes, with 2 weavers set to stockpile.
- 33Smoke out cave bears to the north using your knight and troops. This requires 15 wood for fire.
Tips
- The enemy's resistance is futile.
- You can walk through the river on a sandbar.
- Build up your settlement while searching for Thordal.
- A stone quarry is available in the area where you build hunter huts, but stone may not be necessary.
- The village only wants cattle farms, not pastures.
- When the mead is delivered, the vikings will help you.
- The troops at the start of the REKKYR map drain gold; you can pay them nothing once you reach sheriff.
- Put the baker on stockpile to avoid running out of grain.
- The bears are tough.
