The Mirror Shield

Preparation: Before entering Beneath the Well, gather the following items: 1 Magic Bean (Southern Swamp), 1 Deku Nut (Southern Swamp), 1 Bomb (Bomb Shop), 1 Fish (Western Termina Field), 1 Bottle of Milk (Southern Swamp area). Optional: 1 Blue Potion, 1 Powder Keg. It's recommended to do this on the First Day.

Beneath the Well - Part 1: Climb into the well on the western side of Ikana Canyon. Equip the Gibdo Mask and enter the next room to save. Speak to the Gibdo to the east and give him a Magic Bean.

Beneath the Well - Part 2: Continue through the area, ignoring side paths for now. Speak to the Gibdo at the far east and give him a Deku Nut. Be aware of the Wallmaster that will send you back to the start.

Beneath the Well - Part 3: Head down the hall and speak to the Gibdo to the north, giving him a Bomb. Move to the center of the room to fight a Big Poe. Block its dashes and hit it with five Fire Arrows. Bottle the Big Poe once defeated.

Beneath the Well - Part 4: Exit the Big Poe room and then the next room to the west. Speak to the Gibdo on the north side and give him a Fish.

Beneath the Well - Part 5: Proceed straight ahead and give the Gibdo the Big Poe. In the next room, burn the spiderweb and light the torches. Capture a Bug from the grass.

Beneath the Well - Part 6: Go back one room and give the other Gibdo the Bug. Enter the small room, light the torches, and watch out for invisible Skulltulas. Open the chest for a Purple Rupee.

Obtaining the Mirror Shield: Exit and go north again, timing your movements past spiked traps. Give the Gibdo here a Bottle of Milk. Enter the next room, light the torches to spawn a chest containing the Mirror Shield.

Accessing Ancient Ikana Castle: Shine light onto the Sun Block and then the Sun Face to spawn a ladder. Climb up to enter Ancient Ikana Castle.
