Learn how to chase down the Skull Kid and recover your Ocarina in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. This guide covers the initial chase and your transformation.

Alright, so you've just started Majora's Mask 3D, and the very first thing that happens is this mischievous Skull Kid, along with his fairy pals Tatl and Tael, knocks you off your horse Epona and snatches your Ocarina! Don't worry, it happens to everyone. The Skull Kid makes a quick getaway on Epona, leaving you stranded in a forest area.

If you're familiar with Ocarina of Time 3D, you'll notice the bottom screen layout is pretty much the same. Take a moment to get a feel for the controls. You can clear out some bushes around here for a few rupees to get started. When you're ready, head through the tunnel. You'll need to jump from stump to stump to reach the next tunnel.

Once you're inside, Link tumbles down and comes face-to-face with the Skull Kid again. He's not done with you yet – he uses his magic to transform you into a Deku Scrub! After that little surprise, Skull Kid and Tael disappear, but Tatl gets left behind.

Before you go anywhere, check out the flower behind you. This is a Deku Flower! As a Deku Scrub, you can hop into it by pressing [A]. When the flower releases a puff of air, you can press [A] again to fly up and glide around. It's your first taste of Deku powers!

Now, head through the door. Tatl will formally introduce herself. Use the Deku Flower to launch yourself into the air and glide across the gap.
