Hey there! So, you're diving into Majora's Mask 3D and wondering about saving your game? It's pretty straightforward once you know what to look for. Unlike the old N64 version where you were limited to just two save files, this 3DS version gives you a bit more breathing room with three file slots.

When you first start up, you'll create a New Game, and the hero's name defaults to Link. As you play, you'll want to make sure you're saving your progress. Once you save, the main menu will update to show your available save files, and you can even hop into the Options menu to tweak game settings.

File Management

The key to saving your game is finding special statues scattered throughout Termina. You're looking for either an Owl Statue, which looks like a stone owl, or the new Quill Statues. These are basically Owl Statues where the owl has been replaced by a quill – pretty neat!

In the original game, just returning to the Dawn of the First Day would auto-save your progress. That's not the case here in the 3DS version, so you'll need to actively find these statues to save.

Managing your save files is simple. From the main menu, you can delete your save files one by one. If you want to wipe everything clean, there's a trick: hold down A + B + X + Y right before the title screen appears, and that'll clear all your data.
