Chapter 5: Lost
- Encounter: "The Grinder Room Ambush"
- Location: After navigating through a series of dark, industrial corridors, you'll find a side room with active grinders on the floor. Entering this room triggers an ambush. This room is typically found by taking a left turn at a junction where the main path goes straight.
- Enemies: 2x Standard Biophages, 1x Exploder Biophage, 1x Armored Biophage.
- Strategy:
- Upon entering, immediately use GRP to grab one of the standard biophages and throw it into a grinder. This reduces the initial threat.
- The Exploder Biophage will likely rush you next. Target its glowing sacs from a distance with your Hand Cannon or Tactical Pistol to detonate it. Aim for it to explode near the Armored Biophage if possible, to deal splash damage.
- The Armored Biophage is tough. Use Stasis to slow it down, then hit its weak points (often on its back or shoulders) with your Shotgun or Assault Rifle. Alternatively, if you can maneuver it close to a grinder, a well-timed GRP throw can instantly kill it.
- Maintain distance and use your Shotgun or Tactical Pistol for crowd control. Don't let them surround you.
- Rewards: 750 Credits, 2x Biophage Organs, 1x Health Injector, 1x GRP Battery.
Chapter 6: Below
- Encounter: "Blind One's Den"
- Location: In a large, cavernous area with several side tunnels, after you've passed through the main water purification section. One of the side tunnels leads to a dark, echoey chamber.
- Enemies: 1x Blind Biophage, several small "Crawler" biophages.
- Strategy:
- Stealth is Key: The Blind One is highly sensitive to sound. Crouch-walk and avoid making noise.
- Distraction: Throw objects (empty canisters, GRP-able debris) to distract the Blind One and draw it away from your path or towards environmental hazards.
- Target Weak Points: When it roars or exposes its head, hit its glowing weak points with powerful weapons like the Shotgun or Assault Rifle.
- Deal with Crawlers: The small Crawlers will try to alert the Blind One. Take them out quietly with melee or a silenced weapon if available (though none are explicitly silenced in Callisto).
- Environmental Kills: Look for opportunities to lure the Blind One into spike traps or off ledges if present.
- Rewards: 1000 Credits, 3x Biophage Organs, 1x Health Injector, 1x Weapon Upgrade Chip.
Weapon Schematics & Upgrades
While not strictly "side quests," finding weapon schematics for new firearms or modules is a crucial optional activity that significantly impacts your combat effectiveness. These are often hidden in hard-to-reach areas, behind locked doors, or guarded by challenging biophages. Once a schematic is found, you can fabricate the weapon or module at any Reforge station. Prioritizing these finds will make later encounters much more manageable.
