Escaping the Cell Block

After the dream sequence, you'll awaken in your cell. The chaos outside unlocks your door. Exit and turn right, then descend the stairs to meet Elias. He will give you a shiv, unlocking the Desperate Times achievement.

Use the shiv on the control panel to unlock Elias's cell. Vault over boxes and shimmy through the opening.

In the next room, you'll learn combat basics: hold left or right on the LS before an attack to dodge. Alternate dodges for consecutive attacks. Use RT to attack after dodging. Defeat the two inmates and the first Biophage.

During combat, aim to dismember enemies to unlock the Flesh Wound achievement by taking off both arms.

After combat, unlock Elias's cell using the computer. Follow Elias to the elevator.

In the next area, you'll learn about blocking with LSD. Occasionally, enemies will grab you; mash Y to escape. Remember to stomp on defeated enemies with Y.

Take the lift down. After crouching under debris, you'll encounter another Biophage. This is where you'll practice perfect dodges. Flick the LS left or right as an enemy winds up an attack (much earlier than you might think) to trigger a slow-motion perfect dodge. Successfully performing five perfect dodges unlocks the Float Like A Butterfly achievement. This can be a buggy achievement, so try to get it done here.

After the Biophage fight, look for a green glowing wall storage unit to find a health injector and trigger a tutorial for its use.
