When she was younger, she was actually quite frail. Her mom suggested she spar with Jude to build up her strength. Eventually, she decided to become a nurse at the Mathis family clinic, partly to be closer to Jude. ### Tales of Xillia When Jude and Milla Maxwell return to Jude's hometown, Leronde, you'll meet Leia there. She joins you on your quest to find a special ore needed to heal Milla's injured legs after a tough fight with Nachtigal I. Fenn. Once Milla is better, Leia decides to tag along with the party, inspired by Milla and wanting to become a stronger person herself. She's no longer a nurse but works as a newspaper journalist in Elympios. ## Appearance and Personality In Tales of Xillia, Leia has short brown hair, usually under her favorite white headband, and bright green eyes. She wears a cute white dress with yellow accents and little brown boots. She's got this super positive attitude and always tries to make everyone happy, which is a nice contrast to her love for sports and fighting competitions. She really values effort, win or lose. When you successfully back step an attack, her staff glows white and extends, boosting her range and attack power for a short time. You can even get skills to make this effect last longer or activate it after a Flash Guard. Her artes often involve aerial combat, with most of them launching her into the air. As a nurse, she also has healing and support magic, mostly single-target spells. Her Elemental Impulse can add elemental damage to weapons that don't have any. Her partner skill is Item Steal (アイテムスティール, _Aitemusutiiru_). If the main partner is attacking a downed enemy, Leia has a chance to steal an item.
