Foil an Ambush

Learn how to complete the 'Foil an Ambush' quest in Tales of Berseria. Follow our step-by-step guide to trigger skits, defeat enemies, and progress the story.

Alright, so you've just exited the tavern and a skit called Foil an Ambush is going to pop up. Make sure you catch it!

After that, you'll need to head back to Danann Highway. Go to the exact spot where you fought that Orc Kong earlier – a scene will trigger there. Once that's done, you'll have to take down three Gibbon enemies. They're not too tough, but keep an eye on your health.

After you deal with the Gibbons, two more skits will play: The Reason Behind the Ambush and Three Jobs Complete. Don't miss them! Then, activate the skit I Will Be of Help. Once that's done, it's time to head back to Loegres. You'll get another skit there called No Misdeed Left Undone.

Now, return to the tavern. You'll have a scene that properly introduces you to Tabatha and the Bloodwing Butterflies. This also triggers the skit Stomach Growling. After that, keep an eye out for the skit Shadow Trades, which should pop up after a few seconds. Then, go chat with Tabatha and the bartender.

Following that cutscene and the skit Magilou Joins, your next objective is the grand cathedral. Head there and speak with the guard who's marked on your map. They'll let you into the secret tunnel that leads to the villa. That's pretty much it for this part!
