Navigate World 2-5 in Super Mario Bros. 2, finding Chain Chomps and all three Star Coins. Includes checkpoint location.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Avoid the first Chain Chomp as you hit blocks to get a Leaf and some coins.
  2. 2
Get past the second Chain Chomp.
  3. 3
Spot another Chain Chomp in front of a brick wall. Get it to lunge toward the right, then ground pound its post to set it loose. This clears bricks in its path. If you don't have a Leaf (which gives you the Raccoon tail ability), flick your tail to clear the bricks, gaining access to Star Coin #1.
  4. 4
Continue upward and to the right to find a Chain Chomp with a taller post.
  5. 5
Ground pound the taller post three times to free the Chain Chomp, causing the block to sink into the quicksand.
  6. 6
Enter the now accessible red pipe and avoid the Chain Chomps above to reach Star Coin #2 and some coins before exiting via the blue pipe.
  7. 7
When you emerge, trigger the Checkpoint (a save point) and enter the structure ahead.
  8. 8
Hit the blocks to get another Leaf if needed.
  9. 9
Go down to the second Chain Chomp below. Free it, then go left to grab Star Coin #3.
  10. 10
Continue along and defeat a Boomerang Bro.
  11. 11
You will see a red ring ahead. Activate it if you want the red coins and a 1-Up, but be cautious of the Chain Chomps.
  12. 12
Proceed to the right and avoid another Boomerang Bro as you leap toward the flagpole.
Tips
  • If you don't have a Leaf when encountering the first Chain Chomp blocking bricks, you can use your Raccoon tail ability to clear them.
  • Freeing Chain Chomps by ground pounding their posts can clear obstacles.
  • Be cautious of Chain Chomps when activating the red ring.
