Progress Bar

Learn about the progress bar in Super Mario Bros. 2 levels, showing your position, midpoint, and stage goal on the touchscreen.

When you are playing in an actual level in Super Mario Bros. 2, you can look at the touchscreen. There will be a horizontal bar along the top. This bar shows your current position, indicated by Mario's head, the level's midpoint (if you have passed it already), and the stage's goal. The Mario icon will move to the left or right as you progress through the level. It is a good way of judging how far into a given stage you are, and in some places, if you're even going the right way!
