A guide to Larcette Village in Star Ocean: The Divine Force, covering Private Actions, item locations, quests, shop details, and skill point usage.
Larcette is a small village with few amenities. Before exploring, head to the Inn and speak with the Innkeeper.
When you rest at an Inn, you have an opportunity to buy a meal before going to bed. The meal you choose will offer some buffs or positive effects for a time when you continue your journey.
Choosing to Rest will prompt a scene after which the party will temporarily disband.
Private Actions
When the party separates, you have a chance to view extra scenes with members of your party. Viewing one of these Private Actions can raise affinity between the Main Character and another character. By increasing affinity you may be able to see a character's individual ending scene when you finish the game.
Find your other party members outside now and speak with each of them to view a Private Action. This is one of the features where there will be differences depending on your choice of Main Character.
| Main Character | Party Member | Location | Private Action |
| Raymond | Laeticia | Larcette | Midnight Promise |
| Albaird | Larcette | Sleepless Attendant | |
| Laeticia | Raymond | Larcette | Midnight Promise |
| Albaird | Larcette | A Troubled Attendant |
After viewing the scenes, return to the Inn. Interact with the bed in your room to turn in for the night. In the morning, you can look around the village.

You can collect items in town as you can out in the field. There are a couple of chests here, one is at the top of the lookout tower near the village gate. It holds a Tenacity Charm, an accessory that boosts the user's GUTS +4. You'll have to use DUMA's VA skill to reach the highest level of the tower.
The second chest, in the southwest corner of the village, has the Opera, another game piece.
There are Breakable objects here but they look different from those in the Ruins. You will also find Collection Points and DUMA Point Crystals, some on building roofs.
The Collection Point on the roof of the second building from the west along the south side of the village yields an SP Seed x1. This usable item adds 50 skill points to the party member it is used on. You can only get one of these Seeds here; the Collection Point will not respawn like other Collection Points.
Quests
If you talk to the Cat-Loving Girl outside the Inn, you can take on the game's first Quest. You can complete this Quest right away without leaving the Village. Return to the Girl to receive your reward. The partial Cryptographic Message she gives you will make sense later.
Shop
The stall east of the Inn is the village Shop. It sells recovery items, equipment and some materials. The equipment offered is the same as your party currently uses.
Shop Quests
Shopkeepers also offer Shop Quests. From the Shop menu, use to switch to the Quest tab. Find the items they are looking for and they will reward you with Fol or by adding items to their inventory.
Spend Your Skill Points
If you haven't already, now would be a good time to start using those Skill Points (SP) that you have accumulated by gaining levels through battle experience. Each character has their own Skill Tree and you can access them from the Party menu. Activate available nodes on the Skill Tree to get stat boosts, new battle skills or passive skills.
You can activate any node adjacent to the starting point and then any node adjacent to one you have already activated. Here are some suggestions to get you started:
- Raymond - Move right from the starting point and pick up No Guard before heading up from the starting point to learn the battle skill, Outrage.
- Laeticia - Start heading northwest and pick up some sword skills like Grand Malheur and Liberation du Gerbera. Elemental sword skills are to the southeast.
- Albaird - Unlock Shadow Remnants, Fireball and Ice Sword just east of the starting point and then head west, aiming for Peerless Guillotine.
New battle skills must be set through "Chain Combos" before they can be used in battle. AI-controlled party members can only have 5 AP, so keep that in mind when setting Chain Combos. You also need to set Passive Skills like No Guard for them to take effect.
When you are ready to continue with the story, leave Larcette Village and return to the Larcasse Region.
