Learn about using snacks, enemy tells, The Glow, and grinding money in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.

Snacks: You can buy snacks as a consumable item. Instead of using them immediately, they will automatically activate when your HP drops to zero, restoring HP (and possibly GP - Game Cash). You can only carry one snack at a time, so it's best to keep the most useful one equipped. This process consumes the snack.

Enemy Health Indicators: Enemies and bosses do not have visible HP bars (Health Points). However, you can tell when most enemies are close to death: they will stop and catch their breath, leaving them vulnerable. Bosses will begin to flash as you damage them, with faster flashing indicating they are closer to defeat. A "KPOW" notification appears next to defeated characters, signaling they can no longer retaliate. The damage number shown for a final hit will only reflect the amount needed to defeat the foe, not the total damage dealt.

The Glow: If you defeat five enemies in a row without taking any damage, your character will flash, activating 'The Glow'. This temporarily increases your Speed significantly. While 'The Glow' is active, if you stun an enemy, you can initiate a combo attack. By continuing to press the attack button, this combo can last up to 64 hits or until you are hit. This combo cannot be used on bosses.

Stats and Grinding: You can increase your character's stats up to level 100. It is encouraged to grind (repeatedly play stages to earn money and experience) to build higher stats than recommended for each stage. You can revisit any previously beaten stage and choose a specific section to start from, allowing you to farm money and build your character's strength.

Tactical Retreats and Shops: In most situations, you can backtrack within a stage to revisit shops to purchase items and power up. However, some stages, like stage 1-2, may prevent full backtracking despite being in the same general area. If your progress is terminated for any reason (losing all lives or exiting manually) before beating the entire stage, you will have to restart from the beginning of that stage.

Best Stages for Grinding: To efficiently earn money for stat upgrades, it is recommended to revisit Stage 4 or Stage 5 once they are unlocked. Both stages offer a sufficient number of enemies to provide a good return on your time investment, with Stage 4 being particularly effective.
