Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game stat priorities, Survival Horror, and Boss Rush mode details. Unlock codes and strategies included.
Stat Priorities:
- Speed: Crucial for offense. If enemies interrupt your attacks due to superior speed, you will struggle to deal damage and survive, regardless of other stats.
- Strength: Important for reducing the number of hits needed to defeat enemies, especially for late-game bosses where longer fights are more dangerous.
- Defense: Worth investing in as you cannot completely avoid damage. Sufficient points in Speed and Strength should also reduce how often you get hit.
- Willpower: Generally considered a dump stat, as its benefits can often be replicated by high Defense.
General Stat Advice:
- Do not completely ignore any stat. The best way to increase Defense also increases Willpower by the same amount.
- While some stats are more obviously useful, the best results come from investing in every stat.
- If you are not grinding extensively or are early in the game, focus on the most impactful stats first.
Survival Horror Mode:
Walkthrough
- 1Select your character.
- 2Survive for 30 minutes against an endless stream of Zombie Jerrys and Zombie Lucys.
- 3You retain your stats and start with full HP/GP, but you have only one life. Losing it ends the game.
- 4The number of enemies on-screen increases as you kill more. You start with six and can reach over 30 after killing approximately 200 zombies.
- 5Zombie Jerry and Zombie Lucy have the same power and resilience as in the main game.
- 6At 6 minutes, a lead-up to Negascott's boss theme begins, and the theme starts at 7 minutes, playing for the remainder of the round.
- 7Tip: To maximize survival time, avoid attacking enemies for the first ten minutes. This allows the enemy count to ramp up slowly, preventing overwhelming crowds.
- 8Tip: Knock enemies down and use them as weapons to gain a range advantage, which is crucial for success in this mode.
- 9Warning: It is strongly recommended to have maxed-out stats in everything before attempting to win this mode due to the overwhelming odds.
- Loss: $0.05 X the number of enemies killed.
- Win: $0.50 X the number of enemies killed. This mode is primarily for bragging rights as you will likely have sufficient funds by this point.
Boss Rush Mode:
Walkthrough
- 1You have one life and start with full HP/GP. Your stats carry over.
- 2Defeat all bosses in the following order: Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Lynette/Envy (only one needs to be beaten), Todd Ingram, Roxanne Richter, Robot-01, Super Fighting Robot, The Katayanagi Twins, Negascott, Super Gideon Graves, Gigadeon Graves, and Gideon Gordon Graves.
- 3Note: You will not be given a weapon against Lucas Lee, Roxanne Richter, The Katayanagi Twins, or Super Gideon.
- 4Note: The Sword of Love is provided for the Gigadeon Graves fight and can be carried into the Gideon Gordon Graves fight, making that battle easier.
- 5You are awarded the normal amount of money each boss drops. However, picking it all up may be difficult, and the game prevents 1-up exploits (Todd will not drop one).
- 6Warning: Ensure your stats are very high before attempting this mode.
- Loss: $1 for every boss defeated.
- Win: A bonus of $12. The per-boss rate is the same as failure.
