A complete walkthrough for The Festering Banquet in Salt and Sanctuary, detailing enemy encounters, item locations, platforming challenges, and combat tips.
Walkthrough
- 1Clear the initial area of Rotten Walkers and Rotten Crossbowmen. Watch for more Walkers spawning from the ground.
- 2Defeat the Drowned Berzerker on the left. If it kneels, press Circle to execute it. It guards Red Shard (3).
- 3Head through the doorway on the right to pick up a Pouch of Salt.
- 4Jump onto the first wooden platform, then to the platform with collapsing floors. Head left, or use the stairs on the left. More Walkers will spawn under the ladder.
- 5After clearing the Walkers, head left through the doorway. Pick up the Stone Merchant and Bundle of Salt. Kick down the ladder on the left for a shortcut.
- 6Climb the ladder and jump across to find Torch (3) and Throwing Dagger (20).
- 7Outside, defeat the Feral Beast and the Rotten Crossbowman. Use the 'pulling' combat strategy if desired.
- 8Pick up the Bell of Return behind the Crossbowman.
- 9Head up the staircase to the left. Defeat the Skullbats in the next room.
- 10Continue left, jump over a gap to pick up Red Shard (3), then jump back.
- 11Drop down to the right to get the Stone Cleric. Drop down again and backtrack.
- 12Return to the area with the long ladder. Climb it, defeating Rotten Walkers and a Rotten Crossbowman. Pick up the Rogue's Set from the corpse.
- 13Head left, defeat the Skullbats inside, and climb up. Exit outside to find Grenado (5).
- 14Climb up to face another Drowned Berzerker and a Rotten Walker. Defeat them and pick up the Bandaged Ring.
Tips
- Pay attention to your surroundings as enemies like Rotten Walkers can spawn from the ground.
- Use the execution move (Circle) on kneeling enemies like the Drowned Berzerker for a quick finish.
- Be mindful of collapsing floors in platforming sections. They are graphically indicated and respawn, but can be dangerous in later areas.
- Consider your equipment burden. Heavy armor can slow you down and reduce jump distance, potentially making some jumps impossible if you are over 25% burden.
- Use the 'pulling' combat strategy with ranged weapons or items to isolate enemies like the Feral Beast from groups.
- Skullbats can inflict Poison, but usually die in one hit.
- The Bandaged Ring is a decent early-game ring for melee builds.
- The black obelisk in the area cannot be interacted with yet.
