Understand all status attributes in Salt and Sanctuary, including Health, Stamina, Focus, Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Willpower, Magic, and Wisdom.

Health: This represents your hit points. Reaching zero health results in death. Health increases with each level, but the gains diminish around level 150.

  • Wounding: Not a true attribute, Wounding reduces your total health and occurs when you take damage, including from falls. It is temporary and can be cured at a Sanctuary altar or with certain Prayers.

Stamina: Used for attacking, casting spells, rolling, and jumping. It regenerates automatically when standing still, and slower while blocking. Climbing stops regeneration momentarily. Willpower increases Stamina.

  • Stamina Reduction: Similar to Wounding, this reduces total Stamina and occurs after defeating many enemies without using an altar, or when using Spells. It is temporary and cured at a Sanctuary altar or with items that restore Focus and Stamina.

Focus: This is your mana, required for casting Spells and Prayers. You must invest in the "Phial" skills in the Skill Tree to unlock items that restore Focus. Willpower increases Focus.

Strength: Governs attack power for weapons that scale with Strength.

Endurance: Determines your maximum Equip Load (the weight of weapons and armor you can carry). Higher Endurance allows for heavier gear and affects roll distance, run speed, and jump height. Your Equip Load determines how fast you can roll, run, and jump.

  • Equip Load: Found in your status menu, this shows your current equipped weight versus your maximum. Being closer to your maximum slows you down. Equip Load is divided into percentage brackets: 0%-24.9%, 25%-49.9%, 50%-74.9%, 75%-100%. Exceeding 100% prevents jumping and rolling, and drastically slows movement, but does not affect attack speed.

Dexterity: Governs attack power for weapons that scale with Dexterity.

Willpower: Increases your total Stamina, Focus, and Drop Rate.

Magic: Governs the attack power of Spells and weapons that scale with Magic.

Wisdom: Governs the attack power and effectiveness of Prayers, as well as weapons that scale with Wisdom.

Damage Resistances: Located in the last tab of your status menu, these show resistance to different damage types. They can be viewed as numerical values or percentages (by pressing L3). All damage resistances have diminishing returns; higher values provide progressively smaller percentage reductions in damage taken.

Balance: This value likely indicates resistance to staggering, though its practical effect is minimal as most attacks will stagger you regardless of its value.
