Continue right from the start until you encounter an NPC.

The NPC will ask you about Creeds. You must choose one. Your options are:
- The Three

The Iron Ones (Mountainsmiths)

Goddess of Light (Devara's Light)

Choosing a Creed will grant you a trophy (The Three, Devara's Light, or The Iron Ones) and an item to claim Sanctuaries for your chosen Creed. You can change Creeds later.

Continue forward and pick up any bottles on the ground to read messages.

Defeat the two Rotten Walker enemies.

Open the chest to find a Sanctuary Key.

Tips

Choosing a Creed early earns you a trophy. There are separate trophies for each Creed, so you'll need to join all of them eventually for the platinum trophy.
