Walkthrough

    Upon entering the Sanctuary, select the Creed item given to you by the NPC using the directional buttons. Approach the center of the room and use the Creed item on the altar (R1) to claim the Sanctuary for your Creed. This action also grants a trophy: "Find Sanctuary".

    The altar acts as a checkpoint, saves your game, fully restores your health and items, and allows you to restock healing items. It's a frequent stop for restoration and leveling up.

    Head right and outside the Sanctuary. Jump onto the wooden ledge and move left. Open the chest to find Red Shard (3) and a Pouch of Salt.

    Return to the right and drop down. Continue right, ignoring the locked door. Ascend the stairs.

    Defeat the Rotten Walker and Rotten Crossbowman on the wooden structure. Collect the Pouch of Salt from the bag on the platform.

    Be aware that enemies, like another Rotten Walker, may spawn from the ground. While they can be attacked as they spawn, they are temporarily invincible upon appearing.

    Continue right to a door. Before opening it, note that projectiles and spells can pass through thinner platforms. You can also drop through platforms by pressing Down on the Left Analog Stick + X.

    Open the door to the next area, which contains several Rotten Walkers and Rotten Crossbowmen. One Crossbowman is on a second level to the right.

    Try to stay on the ground floor initially. Avoid jumping up and to the left, as a stronger, more aggressive Drowned Berzerker with more HP is located there.

    Clear out the surrounding Walkers and Crossbowmen before proceeding.

Creed and Sanctuary Mechanics:

  • You can only claim a Sanctuary for your current Creed. Even if you possess items for other Creeds, you cannot use them to claim a Sanctuary for that other Creed.
  • The "Make Offering" option is only available at a Sanctuary that corresponds to your current Creed.
  • "Level Up" and "Tree of Skill" are always accessible regardless of your Creed.
  • Using the altar provides healing items, the quantity and type of which vary based on your chosen Creed.
Tips
  • Climbing speed can be slightly increased by pressing the analog stick in the direction of the climb.
  • Ranged enemies and spells can pass through thinner platforms.
  • You can drop through platforms by pressing Down on the Left Analog Stick + X.
  • Melee attacks can sometimes pass through platforms, but enemies can also do this.
  • Be cautious of enemies spawning from the ground; they are temporarily invincible when they first appear.
