Explore Rogue Legacy 2 classes like Lich, Spellthief, and Dragon, plus detailed explanations of all 31 traits.

Lich Class

The Lich class allows you to convert half of your HP into MP. This conversion is taken from your total HP, not your current health. For example, if you have 50/100 health and use the ability, you will have 50/50 health remaining, not 25/50. Activating this ability when you have too little HP can be fatal.

  • Ability Cost: 0 MP
  • Characteristics: Kills increase maximum health by 4 points and regain 4 points, provided you haven't reached the maximum HP cap.
  • Overview: The Lich is strong early on, enabling spell spamming due to high mana capacity. It's the only class with Crow Storm, which hits all enemies in a room. However, increasing HP by only 4 points per kill becomes very slow at higher HP stats, potentially taking over two sections to reach the maximum. Lower strength leads to slower kills, further slowing HP cap progression.

Spellthief/Spellsword Class

  • Stats: 75% HP, 40% MP, 75% STR, 100% INT
  • Ability: Creates an enlarged version of your spell, increasing area of effect and doubling damage. This ability costs double the mana of a normal spell.
  • Ability Cost: Varies, twice as much as your normal spell.
  • Characteristics: Regains mana on every HIT, including critical strikes. The amount recovered is equal to 30% of the damage dealt.
  • Overview: The Spellthief is a viable class for later stages. Its Empowered Spells cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) a large area and can deal consistent damage when spammed. The MP decrease is manageable, as a maxed critical hit can regenerate almost your entire MP bar. Spells allow for safe, ranged combat.

Dragon Class

  • Stats: 40% HP, 25% MP, 0% STR, 100% INT
  • Ability (Default): Fly around.
  • Ability Cost: 0 MP
  • Characteristics: No jump, no sword attack or sword modifiers. Has the Dragon Fire spell, with 8 MP regeneration per second.
  • Overview: The Dragon is a unique class. Its flight ability is useful early on for quick room traversal and hit-and-hide tactics. The Fireball spell has greater range than the sword, allowing safe distance attacks. However, its extremely low health is a major drawback. The absence of magic critical hits makes damage slow and weak, requiring many hits to kill enemies. Fireballs cannot pass through walls like swords, and the inability to down-attack can be risky. The Dragon excels at boss fights by easily avoiding projectiles and makes fairy chest rooms and dagger circus rooms easier due to its hover ability. When using the Dragon, equip swords with non-offensive bonuses like gold or HP regen, as its damage scales with intelligence, not attack bonus. Siphon, Flight, Vault, and Dash runes are largely ineffective on this class.

Traits

Traits modify characters visually or impact gameplay. A character can have 0, 1, or 2 traits out of a total of 31.

  • ADHD: Move 30% faster.
  • Alektorophobia: Live chickens spawn instead of chicken legs. Killing them yields a chicken leg. Chickens can cause damage and remain in rooms if left, allowing for
