Guide to Psychonauts 2's The Deluge of Grulovia, including how to defeat Maligula and navigate the Forgetful Forest.
Walkthrough
- 1You will start back on the Forgetful Forest path, which now features swirling whirlwinds you must evade by timing your jumps between high points.
- 2An Otto-matic (a shop where you can buy items) will fall onto the path nearby, offering a chance to restock on healing items or buy pins (collectible badges that grant abilities).
- 3Proceed farther until you reach new surroundings.
- 4Examine the statue and use mental connection (a psychic ability to interact with minds and objects).
- 5In the next area, examine the statue again and use mental connection to proceed.
- 6Burn the Maligula tapestry located to the left of the bed.
- 7Use mental connection once more to continue.
- 8Boss Fight: Maligula
- 9During the fight, Maligula will summon water snakes and send them towards you. Dodge them as they pause and rear up near you.
- 10Maligula might also form a waterspout and rush around the battlefield; this attack is harder to dodge and can knock you off the platform, causing damage.
- 11While dodging, use psi blast (a psychic attack) to gradually reduce Maligula's health.
- 12When Maligula's health is about a fourth down, doubts will appear and require your attention.
- 13Your allies' attacks may occasionally stun Maligula.
- 14Around the halfway health mark, the fight mechanics will revert to how they were at the start.
- 15When Maligula has about a third of her health remaining, bad ideas will appear that you must deal with while still dodging water snakes.
- 16When Maligula has about a sixth of her health left, a new phase of the fight begins.
- 17Your objective in this phase is to drive Maligula back a certain distance.
- 18Punch Maligula when she is vulnerable.
- 19Use your breath attack (a psychic ability) when she is charging a water attack.
Tips
- Keep your eyes open for the water snakes to anticipate their attacks.
- The Otto-matic provides a safe space to heal or shop for pins.
- Pay attention to the appearance of doubts and bad ideas, as they require specific actions.
