You'll find yourself on Route 6, south of Saffron City. This is the main path leading down towards Vermilion City, and it's where the southern entrance to the Underground Path is located.

As you head south, you'll encounter your first trainer: a Bug Catcher. They've got a trio of Lv. 16 Pokémon: a Weedle, a Caterpie, and another Weedle. They're not too tough, but it's good practice.

Keep moving south, and you'll run into a Jr. Trainer♂ (sometimes called a Camper). This trainer has a Lv. 16 Weepinbell. Watch out, it might have some status moves!

Just past the Jr. Trainer♂, you'll see a Jr. Trainer♀ (sometimes called a Picnicker). This trainer has a Lv. 16 Cubone. It's a Ground-type, so watch out for its attacks if you're using Electric-types.

After dealing with the trainers, you'll reach the entrance to the Underground Path. Head inside.

The Underground Path is a simple tunnel. Just keep moving south. You'll come out on the other side, which leads you to Route 5.

From Route 5, you'll need to head back towards Cerulean City to get to Route 24 and then eventually reach the S.S. Anne, which is docked in Vermilion City.

Tips

Make sure your Pokémon are healed up before entering the Underground Path, as there are no wild Pokémon or trainers inside, but it's a good way to get to the other side quickly.
Keep an eye on your Pokémon's HP, especially after battling the trainers on Route 6.
