Alright, so you've made it to Vermilion City, and the path forward is blocked by some pesky trees. To get past them, you'll need the HM01 Cut, and the best place to find it is on the legendary S.S. Anne! Let's get you on board and snag that HM.

Walkthrough

First things first, head back to Vermilion City. You'll need to find the S.S. Anne docked in the harbor.

Make your way onto the ship. It's a pretty big deal, and there are lots of trainers and items to find inside.

Navigate through the ship's decks and cabins. Keep an eye out for any NPCs who might give you hints or items.

Your main goal is to find the Captain's cabin. He's usually feeling a bit under the weather, and you'll need to help him out before he'll give you the HM.

Once you find the Captain and help him (it's usually a simple task like rubbing his back), he'll reward you with the HM01 Cut!

Tips

Don't forget to explore the S.S. Anne thoroughly! There are some great items and even some rare Pokémon you can catch on board.
