Master the Rocket Base secret base puzzle in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Find the Upgrade, TM36, and defeat trainers to retrieve the Sapphire Plate.
This is a guide to navigating the Secret Base puzzle in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. This puzzle is similar to the ones found in the Game Corner Rocket Base and Giovanni's Gym, but more complex. You can only turn when an arrow indicates a direction if you spin into it. You will continue moving even if there are no arrows.
- 1Enter the base and take the left arrow.
- 2Go all the way up to collect the Upgrade.
- 3Go past the female Rocket grunt and take the down arrow towards the left.
- 4Walk up, defeat the Rocket, and take the left transporter in the middle.
- 5From there, walk all the way up the path and get TM36.
- 6Take either of the two transporters that go down two spaces and fight the Rocket holding two Level 49 Hypnos.
- 7Take the only transporter and fight the female Rocket holding a Level 52 Muk, a Level 53 Arbok, and a Vileplume.
- 8After defeating her, she will activate a machine that changes one of the arrows at the bottom to point up, making it easier to return.
- 9Go fight the next Rocket, who has a Level 53 Golbat, Level 54 Weezing, and Level 55 Houndoom.
- 10After this, all Rockets will disappear except for a Scientist who stole your Sapphire Plate. He has a Level 46 Voltorb, Electrode, Magnemite, Magneton, and Porygon.
- 11After obtaining the Sapphire Plate, return to Island 1 and give it to the man. This will enable trading with Pokemon Colosseum, Ruby, and Sapphire, and grant access to the Unknown Dungeon.
