Most players will end up using gold, which you earn just by playing the game. The characters are actually split into three different price tiers based on how complex they are to play.

Here's the breakdown of gold costs:

• Recommended characters: These are usually the easiest to get a handle on and will set you back 1500 gold.
• Standard characters: A bit more involved, these cost 2000 gold.
• Expert characters: For the real strategists, these are the priciest at 3000 gold.

Once you've saved up enough gold, just head over to the 'Collections' tab, pick the character you want, and hit that unlock button at the bottom. Easy peasy!
