While MUDANG: Two Hearts emphasizes visceral melee combat, ranged attacks play a vital role in controlling the battlefield, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and safely engaging dangerous foes. The primary form of ranged offense comes from "Spirit Projectiles," which are fired using the player's innate spiritual energy. These projectiles can vary in type and effectiveness depending on the player's chosen "Spirit Focus" or equipped items. For instance, a player focusing on a "Fire Spirit" might be able to launch concentrated fireballs that deal burning damage over time, while a "Frost Spirit" focus could enable the firing of ice shards that slow enemy movement speed by 20%.

Accurate aiming is critical for effective ranged combat. The game provides a lock-on system for targeting enemies, which can be toggled on and off. When locked on, pressing the designated ranged attack button will automatically aim the Spirit Projectile at the targeted enemy. However, for more precise shots, or when dealing with multiple enemies or fast-moving targets, manual aiming is often necessary.
