The Jang-san Beom, a master of illusion and shadow, is a boss encounter that tests a player's ability to discern reality from deception. Found deep within the Whispering Caves, this creature excels at misdirection, often creating spectral duplicates of itself. Its attacks are quick and often come from unexpected angles. The Jang-san Beom's standard attack is a series of rapid shadow-infused slashes. These slashes can inflict the 'Bleed' status effect, which deals damage over time. Dodging these requires precise timing and often involves rolling through the attacks.

The most challenging aspect of this fight is its 'Shadow Clone' ability. The Jang-san Beom will periodically split into two or three identical copies. Only one of these is the true entity; the others are illusions that will dissipate after a single hit but can still deal damage. Identifying the real Jang-san Beom is key. The true entity will have a faint, shimmering aura that the illusions lack. Furthermore, its attacks will have a slightly more pronounced visual effect. When fighting clones, focus on defensive maneuvers and identifying the real one before committing to attacks. The Jang-san Beom is particularly susceptible to holy damage. Using the 'Radiant Orb' consumable or weapons imbued with holy properties, such as the 'Sunstone Blade,' can significantly increase damage output. Its health is estimated at 4200 HP, and it has moderate resistance to all physical damage types. After a successful dodge or a clone dissipation, you'll have a small window of 1-2 seconds to land a few hits.

A common mistake is to attack every shadow that appears, wasting valuable stamina and opening yourself up to the real Jang-san Beom's attacks. Patience and careful observation are crucial. If you're struggling with the illusions, consider equipping the 'Clarity Amulet,' which slightly highlights enemies and their true forms. This boss drops the 'Shadow Essence,' a vital ingredient for crafting high-tier stealth-enhancing gear and potent debuffing consumables. Defeating the Jang-san Beom also clears the Whispering Caves of its oppressive influence, making future exploration safer.
