Master every boss in Metroid Dread with our comprehensive guide. Learn strategies, weak points, and attack patterns for Corpius, Kraid, Drogyga, Escue, and more.

Bosses Covered:

  1. Corpius
  2. Kraid
  3. Drogyga
  4. Escue

Corpius

Corpius is a fun, multi-phase boss introducing new mechanics. It has two main phases, with the second phase featuring invisibility.

Corpius Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Weak Point: Core of the tail (Phase 1), Head (Phase 2, when spewing acid)
  • Attacks: Tail Rattle/Tail Swipe, Tail Slam, Acid Blob, Invisible Charge, Floor Acid Spew

Corpius Phases:

  1. Phase #1: Corpius attacks with tail swipes and slams. Aim missiles at its head (crouch for low, stand for middle, jump for high). A tail slam is a major attack opportunity for missile barrages on the tail's core. After enough damage, slide under Corpius for a melee counter and a quick-time event (hold (R)) to deal significant damage.
  2. Phase #2: Corpius turns invisible and gains new attacks. It can charge Samus using a magnetic field. When Corpius spews acid across the floor, its head will be low, providing an opportunity to attack with missiles. If out of missiles, use Charge Beam shots on the tail to trigger the quick-time event again.

Kraid

Kraid returns as a challenging and visually impressive boss, featuring two distinct phases that test Samus's combat skills.

Kraid Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Weak Point: Mouth (Phase 1), Belly (Phase 2)
  • Attacks: Resource Balls (can be shot for health), Fireball, Boomerang Claws, Pink Fireball

Kraid Phases:

  1. Phase #1: Kraid attacks from his mouth with resource balls and fireballs. Shoot resource balls for health. Avoid the fireball. Aim missiles or charged blasts at Kraid's mouth. Watch out for boomerang claws.
  2. Phase #2: Kraid's weak point shifts to his belly (pink spot) and head. Fire missiles or charged blasts at the belly. Kraid uses more attacks, including bouncing pink fireballs. Players must use the Spider Magnet to reach the top and attack Kraid's head, while also dodging classic 'spears' from his belly.
