Part 8

Max Payne Part 8 walkthrough: Learn how to get the Staircase Key and navigate Luigi's Laundry in Chapters 5 and 6.

Walkthrough:

1. Follow the hallway until you reach a large, multi-level room. Engage the two thugs approaching your position.
2. If any thugs survive, they will hide in a small room in the right corner. Beyond this room, find the Staircase Key on the back shelf and a letter on the counter regarding Vladimir.
3. Leave this room and locate the double doors on the opposite side. Use the Staircase Key to open them and end the level.
4. Chapter 5: Let The Gun Do The Talking
5. Run to the top of the first set of stairs. Swing the camera to see the top of the second set, where a thug will appear and run away. Attempt to kill him, but do not chase. A second thug will throw a grenade.
6. After the grenade explodes, head upstairs and eliminate the remaining two thugs, plus a third at the top of the next set of stairs.
7. Before proceeding, check the woman's bathroom for three painkillers in a cabinet near the sinks.
8. Head upstairs and enter the area on the right. An explosion will cause the ceiling to cave in, blocking the next stairwell.
9. The left side of the balcony is safer, with a small gap around the corner. Shoot-dodge to the other side and enter the corridor. The floor behind you will collapse.
10. The apartment at the end of the hall is unlocked. Four mob thugs are inside. Open the door and engage them, being mindful of those in the corners.
11. Once at least two thugs are dead, shoot-dodge inside to eliminate the remaining ones. The bedroom cabinet contains a painkiller.
12. Climb through the kitchen window and onto the fire escape to complete the chapter.
13. Chapter 6: The Alternate Route
14. Descend the fire escape and drop onto the dumpster. Engage the junkies by the barrel fire.
15. Head through the door by the fence, passing the door with the Luigi's Laundry sign. Max notes you need to get to the elevator through the locked door ahead.
16. Attempt to trick the goons inside the Laundry door to let you in; they will refuse.
17. Leave the Laundry through the other door and enter the old apartment building on the left. Avoid shooting the junkies near the stairways.
18. The first stairway has one thug; after killing him, two more will appear. Continue up the next set of stairs and kill the two thugs coming down.
19. At the top of the third floor, find a small room with an unarmed thug. Spare his life, and he will help you get into the Laundry.
20. Before leaving the apartment building, check the room adjacent to the thug's room for painkillers in the green cabinet.
21. Escort your hostage to the Laundry's door to end the level.
22. Chapter 6: A One Man War
23. After giving the Laundry guys the password, your hostage alerts them. Stand in the doorway as it opens and fire your Berettas to kill the thug who opens the door, your ex-hostage, and a third guy.
24. Enter the Laundry and pick up the shotgun and Beretta ammo from the table and floor.
25. Enter the room on your left, which contains washing machines. A fourth goon will emerge from the next room; be ready to eliminate him.
26. Enter the room the final thug came from and check behind the desk for painkillers and shotgun ammo.
27. Take the elevator to the top of the building. Shooting the speaker playing music will earn thanks from Max.
28. When the elevator stops, run down the hallway and enter the room at the end.
29. A guy is in the bathroom. The door is locked, but he will exit shortly. Wait for him to come out and then kill him.
30. Watch the TV report and pick up the Ingram and Beretta ammo. Jump through the window.
31. Use the pipes to reach the adjoining apartment. A guy is inside watching
