Part 20

Complete the Part 20 walkthrough for Max Payne, including defeating Joe Salem and Vince Mugnaio, and navigating nightmare sequences.

Walkthrough:

1. Enter the first room guarded by two thugs. The thug on your level will run upstairs to join his partner. Try to stop him, but if you can't, stay near the stairs to avoid gunfire and shoot them when they reload.
2. Run up the stairs and take a right. Open the door to find Joe Salem and two thugs. You can use a grenade or shoot-dodge. Be aware of a thug in the far right corner.
3. After defeating Joe Salem, head to the other door in the main staircase. A thug will run inside and lock it.
4. Stand by the door and listen; they will discuss Max, ending with "This will stop anything. Take cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects)."
5. Move as far away from the door as possible, preferably to the other balcony in front of the room. The thug will fire an M79 round, destroying the door. The rounds will not reach your position.
6. Equip your sniper rifle and eliminate the thug on the other balcony.
7. Enter the room and use the camera to see around the corner to the right. Shoot-dodge over to kill the two thugs by the bed.
8. Head through the door on the right into the bathroom. There are three painkillers in the wall-mounted cabinet.
9. Leave the bathroom and kill the thug in the bedroom. Examine the bed to find the corpse of Lisa Punchinello, triggering a short cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).
10. Continue into the next room and pick up the ringing telephone. Alfred Woden will introduce himself and inform you about an armed helicopter on the manor grounds.
11. Enter the next area, the balcony, where Vince Mugnaio, the final member of the Trio, is waiting.
12. Equip your Colt Commando or dual Ingrams. Run to the other side of the balcony and shoot-dodge to the end. Vince Mugnaio will emerge from the corner; attack him with everything you have.
13. After defeating Vince Mugnaio, enter the next room where two goons guard Punchinello's room. One is near the door.
14. Equip your Colt Commando before entering Punchinello's room. A cutscene will play where Punchinello begs for his life, claiming he was following orders.
