On that last corner of the meandering section (before the final left turn), if you have a Mushroom, use it! As the track starts to turn right for the final time, keep drifting left and use your boost to cut across and land just before the small blue ramp. It's a huge time saver if you nail it.

Tips

Watch out for cows! On your second lap, cows will actually wander onto the track in that meandering section. You'll need to weave through them or use items to get past.
Save your Mushrooms or Stars for that meandering section. They are super useful for either boosting through the off-road slowdown or hitting the shortcut.
When you trick off the booster ramp after the first left turn, drift to the right around the hills. This is more efficient than trying to cut through them.
