Get the best lines and avoid hazards on GCN Mario Circuit! Learn shortcuts and expert tips for Time Trials and winning races in Mario Kart Wii.
Alright, let's tackle GCN Mario Circuit! This track can be a bit tricky with its hazards, but once you know the lines, it's super satisfying. We'll get you through it like a pro.
Walkthrough
- 1You'll start on the track. Your first goal is to nail the first two corners. Make sure you drift around them, especially the second one which is pretty sharp. After that, hug the right side of the road. This is important because a Chain Chomp will pop out from the left, and you do NOT want to get caught by it.
- 2After you pass through the tunnel, be careful of the sides of the road. There are Piranha Plants lurking there, ready to chomp you if you get too close. Keep your line towards the center.
- 3You'll come up on a hairpin turn followed by a corner to the right. Drift around both of these smoothly.
- 4Next up is a bumpy section. You'll see some Goombas here. Avoid touching them at all costs, or you'll spin out and lose all your momentum. Just drive past them carefully.
- 5Keep pushing forward, and you'll cross the start/finish line. Nice job!
Shortcuts:
- After you've dealt with the first couple of corners and the Chain Chomp area, the road will curve right around a green patch on the left. This is where the Chain Chomp usually hangs out. If you have a Mushroom, this is your chance! You can cut straight across this green area. You might need to drive onto the very edge of the grass first, then pop your Mushroom to get enough speed to clear the whole thing. It saves a good chunk of time!
Other Tips:
- See those bumps on the track just before the final corner area? You can pull off a trick off of them! It gives you a little speed boost.
- There's also a trick you can do from the final bridge. Use it to get a bit of air and a speed boost.
Time Trial Tips:
- Remember that shortcut with the Mushroom? Use the Mushroom that's located to the left of where the Chain Chomp appears. It's the same one we talked about in the shortcut section.
- If you do a trick off the rightmost bump at the very end of the track, you can actually get enough boost to jump over that little patch of grass and then drift right onto the bridge. It's a slick way to gain time.
