Master Kirby's Adventure Part 26! Learn strategies for defeating King Dedede and the final boss, Nightmare, with expert tips and walkthrough details.

Alright, we're nearing the end of Kirby's Adventure! This section covers some pretty crucial stuff: grabbing a vital item, unlocking warp capabilities, and taking down two major bosses. Let's get this done!

First, you'll need to navigate through a tricky area. You'll be dealing with enemies, grabbing a Maxim Tomato, and passing through doors. Keep an eye out for pink puffs and elves – take them out and move on. After that, make your way down and to the right. You'll need to slide kick through some boxes. Keep heading upwards, but don't go through the door you see just yet. Instead, head to the very top where you'll spot a moon. Enter it – this is your next secret switch!

Finding this switch is a big deal because it reveals a Warp Star. Grab the 1-Up and Maxim Tomato that appear, and then you can finally head through that door. All that's left in this section is to enter the final door, which will unlock the Warp Star, allowing you to travel to any world in the game. Pretty neat, huh?

VII. WORLD 7 BOSS - KING DEDEDE

Before you even think about fighting King Dedede, I've got a pro tip for you. Use that Warp Star you just found to head back to World 2. Go to the Kirby's Ability Museum and grab the Laser ability. Seriously, don't pick Fire, you want Laser for this fight. Once you have Laser, warp back to Rainbow Resort and enter King Dedede's door. He can be tough, but with this strategy, you'll have him beat in no time.

King Dedede has a few attacks you need to watch out for:

  • Ground Pound: He'll run forward a bit and fall onto the ground. The best way to avoid this is to simply float above him. It's not too hard to dodge.
  • Leaping Stars: He jumps high into the air and lands on his rear, creating two stars that fly out. You can usually tell where he's going to land by his angle in the air. You can even spit these stars back at him!
  • Inhale: He inhales like Kirby does, pulling stars in. Just stay behind or above him to be safe.
  • Hammer Charge: He charges forward, jumps, and crashes down with his hammer. This also leaves a star behind that you can use.
  • Inflate & Bounce: He sucks in air, then inflates and bounces all around the arena. Try to stay in the corners to avoid this one.
  • Hammer Smash: He stands still and smashes his hammer in front of him. Stay out of the hammer's reach.

Now, for the main strategy: with the Laser ability, you can hit him about five times in a row from a distance. It's fast and powerful, and it can even cancel out some of his moves, like the hammer charge, as he's doing them. It'll take about 30 hits like this to defeat him. Alternatively, you can just use his own stars against him.

Josh aka Labrynth's Super Fast Strategy: If you want to end this fight even quicker, there's another method. After finishing Rainbow Resort, go back to World 4 in Rainbow Resort and grab the 'ball' power-up – it's the first one you see. Then, use the 'leave through a door' option. When you enter the King Dedede fight, immediately press B to activate the power and hold down A. Kirby will zoom around the arena, dealing massive damage and canceling most of Dedede's attacks. The only move that might hit you is the float attack if you're directly underneath him. This method can take him down in under 20 seconds!

FINAL BOSS - NIGHTMARE

You've got the Star Rod, the ultimate weapon to defeat Nightmare and save Dreamland! Here's how to handle its attacks:

  • Three Stars: Nightmare shoots three stars in a semi-straight line. Just move up or down to dodge.
  • Cross Stars: It shoots a star across the middle, then to the top, and then the bottom. Position yourself in the top or bottom middle areas to avoid this.
  • Two Stars: It sends two stars, one above the other. Go up, down, or stay in the middle.
  • Four Stars: This is its toughest attack in this form. A star appears at the top, bottom, and two in the middle. The best way to dodge is to position yourself perfectly between the two middle stars so one goes over you and the other goes under.
  • Blades: It shoots five blades rapidly. Move up, down, and side-to-side; it's pretty easy to see coming.

Your main attack is to just keep pressing A to shoot stars. For its variation of the four-star attack, where the stars get mangled after shooting, you'll have to dodge randomly.

Nightmare's Second Form: Once you deal enough damage, Nightmare will change forms. This form is actually easier. Look for a whirlwind under its exterior and shoot your star (press B) when you see it to deal damage. Its attacks in this form are straightforward and easy to dodge: three-star shots, five-star downward shots, finger star zaps, quadruple disappearing stars, and tornado touches. You'll be able to figure these out easily.
