Mini-Boss (Lion):
This mini-boss has several attacks:
- It runs, jumps, and falls on its face, dropping stars. Avoid this attack and inhale the stars to spit them back at the boss.
- It mimics the Burning ability. Jump over it quickly.
- It performs three consecutive jumps in place. Avoid being underneath it. This often precedes attack 1.
Be cautious of a fake-out where the boss runs forward like attack 1 but then jumps back, potentially causing you to land on it.
To damage the boss, inhale the stars it drops after its first attack and spit them at it. You can also gain the Burning ability from it.
Navigation:
After the mini-boss, navigate around pillars, poles, and platforms to reach the next door. Proceed through areas with Lasers, pigs, elves, and blue Fire enemies. You can shoot small hill elevations to hit hard-to-reach enemies with the Laser ability. Continue to the final door, defeating a Burning enemy on the way.
SUB-GAME - QUICK DRAW:
This is a timed challenge where you must strike enemies before they attack. The count indicates when they will strike.
- WaddleDoo: Attacks at 82 counts. You have until count 81 to strike. Tip: Don't press before the mark.
- Wheelie: Attacks at 50 counts. You have until count 49 to strike.
- Chef Kawasaki: Attacks at 24 counts. You must strike before this time.
- King DeDeDe: Attacks at 17 counts. Get your attack in by count 16.
- Meta Knight: Attacks at 14 counts. This is the final opponent. Get your attack in quickly.
- 1-Up: Pass the first three enemies (WaddleDoo, Wheelie, Chef Kawasaki).
- 2-Up: Get further than King DeDeDe.
- 3-Up: Beat all enemies up to Meta Knight.
VI. SIXTH LEVEL:
Navigate an area with many Wheels. Obtain a Wheel ability and proceed towards the Maxim Tomato, rolling through any Wheels in your path. Avoid falling off the edge. Smash a bomb by rolling through it. Continue across platforms, under spikes, and past Stones. Hop to the other side and enter a door. Kill a normal enemy that jumps at you. Continue past enemies and into the water, killing fish but avoiding going too deep. Enter the door before the final one. Underwater, swim to another door and collect a Maxim Tomato as you fall. Return, destroy silver blocks (using Hammer from the Arena if available), then other blocks, and go through the door. Get a 1-Up and step on a switch to reveal a hidden Warp Star for this World. Proceed to the final door.
WARP STAR:
From here, you can use the Warp Star to travel to levels 1, 2, 3, or 4, as you are currently on level 5. Higher levels offer more Warp Star destinations.
VII. WORLD 5 BOSS:
This boss can be challenging. Start with the Hammer ability for initial damage, but be prepared for it to be knocked away. Inhale and spit abilities at the boss. It uses spiked balls to break the ground. Follow the boss at angles to avoid getting trapped. It may release small robotic enemies that can be inhaled and spat at the boss. Do not get too close, as the boss deals significant damage. When its front latches open, prepare to inhale an enemy. As its health gets low, it moves very fast, making damage difficult but possible. It dispatches robots less often at this stage. Defeat it to obtain the Star Rod.
