Optimize your Runesmith build in Jotunnslayer: prioritize Intellect, Vitality, and key spells for magic damage and utility.

The Runesmith is a versatile magic-user, capable of both offensive spellcasting and providing defensive utility. Your build should balance magical damage with survivability and cooldown reduction to maximize spell uptime.

Attributes Priority:

1. Intellect: Your primary damage stat for spells, also boosts magical defense.
2. Vitality: Essential for survivability, as you'll often be closer to the action than a Skald.
3. Dexterity: Improves spell critical hit chance and cast speed. A secondary offensive stat.

Key Skills & Abilities:

• Runic Blast (Active): Your primary offensive spell, a powerful fireball. Upgrade for increased damage and AoE.
• Stone Skin (Active): Grants a temporary shield and damage reduction. Crucial for mitigating burst damage.
• Chain Lightning (Active): Jumps between multiple enemies, excellent for crowd control and AoE. Upgrade for more jumps and higher damage.
• Arcane Mastery (Passive): Increases spell damage and mana regeneration. Max this out.
• Runic Shielding (Passive): Grants a chance to block incoming damage with a magical shield. Improves survivability.

Recommended Gear & Enchants:

• Weapon: Staff or Rune-etched Dagger with high spell power. Look for 'Intellect', 'Spell Critical Hit Chance', 'Cooldown Reduction', and 'Elemental Damage' enchantments.
• Armor: Medium Cloth or Light Plate Armor. Prioritize 'Intellect', 'Magical Defense', and 'Cooldown Reduction' enchantments.
• Accessories: Rings and Amulets that boost 'Intellect', 'Mana Regeneration', or 'Spell Damage'.

Playstyle Tips:

Balance offensive spells with defensive abilities. Use Runic Blast for single targets and Chain Lightning for groups. Activate Stone Skin before engaging tough enemies or when anticipating heavy damage. Keep your distance when possible, but don't be afraid to use your defensive spells to survive closer encounters.
