Welcome to our Frostpunk Expert Mode Guide! These tips are for beginners and experts alike, focusing on advanced resource management to help you survive the extreme cold and challenging scenarios.

General Tips:

• Dismantle and pause the Cookhouse to control food consumption, ensuring people eat only when necessary and saving Food Rations.
• For a "no deaths" run, consider the Child Labour, Food Additives, Radical Treatment, Overcrowding, Emergency Shift, and Extended Shift laws. This approach prioritizes survival over immediate comfort.
• Escort survivors home quickly to prevent any deaths and bolster your city's population early on.

How to Beat The Rifts - Expert Mode:

Start by signing the Emergency Shift law and working everyone (especially Wood and Steel workers) 24 hours on the first day. Build one Gathering Post and two Medical Posts in the innermost heat circle. Construct a Workshop before unpausing, utilizing its +2 building insulation. Sign Extended Shift and then Food Additives. This strategy hinges on micromanaging food consumption by dismantling and pausing the Cookhouse when the hungry icon disappears, avoiding the need for early Hunter's Huts.

Keep 10 Engineers free to build Workshops. Once built, research the Beacon and send scouts to find Survivors and resources. During the night, respond to shelter requests with "some shelter" if you cannot provide for everyone, and activate the generator and overdrive. Build the Cookhouse and another Gathering Post, ideally on the second rift for its abundant resources. Research either the Sawmill or Heaters next, prioritizing the Sawmill for Wood stockpiling.

Build the Beacon and deploy scouts. The bottom-left area of the map has a high chance of discovering the Buried Hamlet site for Survivors. Prepare meals with Food Additives and continue managing food intake. Build one or two Sawmills to stockpile Wood for bridges and technology. Sign the Radical Treatment law, followed by Overcrowding. Research Drawing Boards, Hothouse, or Steam Hub. For optimal progression, choose Drawing Boards, Hothouse, then Steam Hub to manage hunger effectively.

Sign the Child Labour law to boost resource gathering. Build the Hothouse and Hunter's Huts as new Survivors arrive. When building the first bridge, aim for one leading to an Iron Ore deposit to construct a Steelworks. Research the Steelworks, then build bridges to Coal Deposits for a Coal Mine. After researching the Hothouse and Generator Power Upgrade, focus on Drafting Boards and then the Steam Steelworks. Successfully navigating these early steps will allow you to survive the first storm and snowball towards prosperity.
