Understanding Heat Zones

Learn how Frostpunk's Heat Zones function, managing coal consumption for your city. Extend warmth with Steam Hubs and utilize the temperature overlay.

Heat is your most critical resource. The Generator provides heat in concentric rings, with heat decreasing further from the core. Buildings within these heated zones consume coal. You can extend heat with Steam Hubs, which are smaller, localized heat sources. Pay attention to the temperature overlay (accessible via the thermometer icon) to ensure all your citizens and workplaces are adequately heated. Unheated citizens will get sick quickly.
