Fruit trees offer a long-term investment for any farmer in Fields of Mistria, providing a consistent source of valuable fruit throughout the year once they mature. Unlike seasonal crops, fruit trees, once planted, will produce fruit every season (except winter, unless planted in the Greenhouse) for many years. Saplings can be purchased from Pierre's General Store or occasionally found through other means.

The available fruit tree saplings include Cherry Trees, Apricot Trees, Orange Trees, Peach Trees, Plum Trees, and Apple Trees. Each tree takes 28 days to grow to maturity. Once mature, they will produce their respective fruit daily during their designated growing seasons. For example, Cherry Trees produce Cherries in the Spring, while Apple Trees produce Apples in the Fall. Some trees, like Peach Trees, produce fruit in both Summer and Fall.

Planting fruit trees requires careful planning of your farm layout. Each tree needs a 3x3 area of empty space around it to grow, meaning you cannot plant them directly adjacent to each other or to buildings and fences. This spacing requirement is crucial; if a tree does not have enough room, it will not grow. It's recommended to plant them in dedicated orchards, leaving at least one tile of space between each tree's 3x3 growth area.

The quality of the fruit produced by a tree can be influenced by the use of fertilizers. If a mature fruit tree is fertilized with a Quality Fertilizer, there is a chance it will produce higher-quality fruit, such as Silver or Gold quality. This is particularly beneficial for crops like Apples or Peaches, which are often requested for high-level museum donations or for crafting valuable artisan goods. The "Fruit Bat" profession, unlocked through the Foraging skill tree, can also increase the chance of finding extra fruit when harvesting from trees.

Fruit trees are an excellent way to supplement your income and fulfill specific requests from townsfolk.
