This difficulty setting begins to be tough. You can use Type-7 Films (a type of photographic film for your Camera Obscura) against very few ghosts in the first encounter, but later Type-14 Films and Type-61 Films will become your elite weapons. The damage you cause on the enemies remains half compared to Normal mode. Most of enemies' hits can now take out half of your lifebar (health bar), which means two hits from them can kill you. Herbal Medicine's effect is reduced a little.

- Master Normal mode without too many hardships, as this will make progressing through HARD MODE less of a problem.
