OLD TOWN

After completing Life After Life, talk to Jacob in his office to start The Beast Within. This mission must be played at night, at least initially, serving as a Volatile tutorial.

Find the Beast’s Traces: Exit the Town Hall and follow the rooftop opposite. Use survivor senses to find footpaths. Jump southeast across the street to rooftops, follow them east and southeast across power lines to a new rooftop. Turn west, climb a wall, and go over shingle roofs. Look south/southwest for trails leading to an explosion trigger under a large bridge.

Investigate the Explosion Site: Head towards the explosion under the bridge. Be cautious of Volatiles; use your flashlight, parkour to rooftops, and make sharp turns. Hide in long grass or apartments if needed. Use survivor senses to track Volatiles. Loot the area under the bridge for a low-grade SMG and ammo. Be mindful of the firelight attracting Volatiles.

Go to the Church: Make your way north to the church. Daylight should be appearing. Check the north side for a crypt. Craft a molotov and firecracker to clear the viral and biters inside the crypt. A hidden collectible is near a statue in the crypt. Inside the church hall, Virals will appear. Parkour around the room, following the walls towards a wooden platform behind the pews. From there, parkour to chandeliers, take a cable, and access scaffolding to climb higher.

Train Tunnel: Navigate through the train tunnels. A hidden survivor stash with loot can be found in the first part of the tunnels.
