Master combat in Dying Light by upgrading weapons and skills, utilizing the sidestep move, and carrying essential items like flares and throwing weapons.
Walkthrough
- 1Always be aware of your surroundings to avoid being cornered.
- 2Continuously upgrade your weapons, even if they are already modified, to ensure you have the strongest available.
- 3Utilize the sidestep move frequently when fighting humans, big guys, or demolishers to easily evade attacks and position yourself for a counter-hit.
- 4Always carry flares, at least one gun (a pistol, assault rifle, and shotgun are recommended), and any type of throwing weapon (higher color grade is better) to help you out of difficult situations.
- 5Prioritize upgrading your Combat skill as soon as you reach the required level to fight longer without becoming tired.
- 6Avoid using slow weapons against runners or humans, as they can easily dodge your attacks, leading to fatigue. Use one-handed weapons for these enemies. Power attacks are effective against humans as they generally cannot block them.
- 7When facing a group of enemies, eliminate the most disruptive ones first, such as acid zombies, babies, and humans with guns, as they significantly increase the difficulty of the fight.
- 8If you have the Kill Frenzy skill, fight in the dark to gain substantial experience points (XP), or find a large swarm of zombies. Old Town is an excellent location for gaining XP due to the high density of wandering zombies.
Tips
- Always upgrade your weapons, even if your current ones are upgraded and moded, it’s all about having the strongest weapon when roaming around the game.
- Always carry flares, at least 1 gun [I usually carry a pistol, assault rifle and shotgun] and any kind of throwing weapon [The higher the color grade the better], all these items will get you out of a jam one way or another.
- Always upgrade the Combat skill when you reach the level to, this is extremely important so you can fight longer without getting tired.
- Never use a slow weapon on a runner or human as they can dodge your attacks easily causing you to get tired from doing so, use one-handed weapons to dispatch them, using power attacks will allow to kill humans much easier as they cannot block it but can sometimes.
- Always takeout the most annoying enemy before fighting the rest of group like acid zombies, babies, and humans with guns, as these enemies will make your fights harder and more annoying.
- If you have the Kill Frenzy skill go fight in the dark to gain massive amounts of XP or just find a big swarm to kill, the best place to gain XP is in Old Town as there are lots of zombies wandering around in big groups.
