Complete the final level, The Absolution, in Doom 64. Learn how to defeat the Motherdemon and collect all Demon Artifacts.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon starting The Absolution, collect all weapons and ammo in the initial room.
- 2Pick up the MegaSphere and then the Invincibility Sphere.
- 3Open the door and proceed into the next area, which contains three chambers: one to the right, one to the left, and one at the far end. A pedestal with the Demon Artifact symbol is located behind each chamber.
- 4Enter the chamber on the right fully and then exit. Pain Elementals will begin to teleport in.
- 5Go behind this chamber to find the pedestal. Press C-Right to activate it if you have the Gold Demon Artifact.
- 6Proceed to the next chamber and locate the pedestal behind it. Wait for the earthquake to stop, then activate it if you have the Blue Demon Artifact.
- 7Go to the final chamber, find the pedestal, and activate it like a switch once the earthquake subsides, provided you have the Pink Demon Artifact.
- 8Each chamber will seal after its pedestal is activated, preventing further monster teleportation.
- 9Eliminate any remaining monsters in the room, which will primarily be Pain Elementals, Cacodemons, and Hell Knights. If you did not collect the Demon Artifacts, you will have to fight all enemies that teleported in.
- 10Once all monsters are defeated, the central pillar will lower, revealing the Motherdemon.
- 11Defeat the Motherdemon.
Tips
- Use the Laser weapon with ample ammo on the Motherdemon, firing rapidly for a quick defeat, especially when combined with the Artifacts' power. The BFG is also effective.
- Strafe to avoid the Motherdemon's homing missiles and the damaging fire on the ground that causes you to jump.
- Soulspheres or MegaArmor may appear in the center of the room periodically; grab them if possible.
