Follow this guide to complete the Days Gone mission "This Could Be It." Includes details on tranquilizing a Newt, finding a NERO Injector, and preparing for a massive horde encounter.
Walkthrough
- 1Speak with Sarah in her tent. She believes she has a formula to deal with the infected and gives you a tranquilizer gun with five darts to test it on a Newt. This tranquilizer gun replaces your sidearm for this task.
- 2Ride to the marked isolated homestead. Sarah will call, specifying the subject is a Newt wearing a red dress. This subject will have a distinctive marker.
- 3Clear the area of approximately fifteen to twenty Newts on the roof and around the house. The target Newt may be on the far side of the house or inside.
- 4Equip the tranquilizer gun and incapacitate the marked Newt.
- 5Before interacting with the unconscious Newt, enter the house to find a NERO Injector.
- 6Interacting with the Newt triggers a cutscene where you secure her to your bike and return to Wizard Island.
- 7At the camp, Captain Kouri warns you about the Colonel's rules. Help Sarah restrain the subject for the test.
- 8The test fails, and Sarah reveals she was trying to find a cure, not a weapon, seeing the infected as sick individuals. You offer to get more research from Cloverdale.
- 9A soldier interrupts, summoning you to Colonel Garret, who introduces Lieutenant Weaver and his ready Napalm Molotov for a field test: destroying a horde. You will accompany Captain Kouri.
- 10The mission transitions to "You Alone I Have Seen." You find yourself on an overlook with Captain Kouri, facing a large horde below. You decide to take it on alone.
- 11Gather supplies near the bikes: Remote Bombs, Napalm Molotovs, and ammo.
- 12Move down the grade and across the shallow stream as the horde moves into the complex.
- 13Raid the building near the wall with colorful graffiti for supplies. Ensure you have a full stock of Molotovs and explosives.
- 14Exit the building to the rear and move clockwise. Pass a large propane tank and a two-story building to the southeast, aiming for a flatbed trailer.
- 15Place a proximity bomb near the propane tank and another near the one by the log snack shack.
- 16Raid the building on the left if needed, as the horde moves slowly past the two-story building. Remain undetected.
- 17When the horde enters the low area, advance, silently eliminate stragglers, and place Remote Bombs along both sides of the building.
- 18Move to the front of the two-story building, hide in the brush on the right, toss an Attractor into the horde, and follow with Napalm Molotovs.
- 19Get to the front of the building and dive under the obstruction to enter it. Debris will fall, blocking the entrance and keeping you safe.
- 20Head upstairs and onto the narrow roof. Use Survival Vision to see the surrounding Freaks.
- 21Explode the remote bombs you laid earlier. Use throwables to thin the horde in front of the building.
- 22Shoot Freaks from the roof or through the lower-level debris. Use Survival Vision to locate groups and thin them with Molotovs or explosives.
- 23Once the horde is significantly thinned, you can attempt to jump down and sprint away. Lead the remaining Freaks past the two large white propane tanks with Proximity Bombs.
- 24Stop beyond the tanks, down the lead Freaks, and let the explosions cause damage. Use a fast-firing weapon like the Chicago Typewriter to spray the Freaks as you sprint away.
- 25Note: You cannot re-enter the two-story building once the horde is engaged due to debris blocking the entrance.
Tips
- Take fast-firing weapons like the Chicago Typewriter or RPD machine gun, as you cannot switch weaponry or purchase ammo for the next two main missions.
- Bring as many explosives and incendiaries as possible, and craft more if you can.
- Having a full supply of Molotovs and explosives is vital for success.
- Be patient when thinning the horde from the building; you can significantly reduce their numbers with minimal risk.
- Use Survival Vision frequently to locate groups of Freaks.
- Story progression.
- Lieutenant Weaver's Napalm Molotov is now available for field testing.
