The German and Russian Luger pistols in Call of Duty are functionally identical, differing only in appearance and sound. You should primarily use these pistols when you have run out of ammunition for your primary weapon, especially if you are using a sniper rifle. If an enemy gets too close, attempting to snipe them is difficult; instead, switch to your pistol and aim for the head (a critical hit to the head).

Each Luger pistol holds approximately 7 shots before requiring a reload. Landing 2 to 3 shots to the head is typically enough to eliminate an enemy. Pistols can also be effective for finishing off less skilled opponents without wasting valuable primary ammunition, and can even be used for suppressing fire (laying down a continuous stream of bullets to keep enemies pinned down).
